About us
Petra Karthaus opened in 1989, and since then, the philosophy has been to give our customers the best quality in fashion and service. But more than that, we became known for our boutique experience. Each season’s new collections are curated with selected jewelry and bags completing the look. Our customers are presented with the latest fabrics from France, Italy, Spain, and Germany, unique ensembles tailored to your body.
PK Fashion is a premier luxury fashion retailer. The PK store on Bloor Street West in Toronto offers a wonderful shopping experience with niche and established European labels offering customers the must-haves for their wardrobe needs – from every day to extraordinary.
PK offers online shopping for accessories including scarves, jewelry, handbags, gloves and skincare products.
After 25 years of success in our original location, we moved to a bigger, brighter spot across Bloom Street at Manifest Center in 2014, where today we’re one of only a handful of clothing stores and (as of this writing) the only one specializing in cool, chic European couture for women. And we’re proud to say that our lines are actually produced and imported directly from Europe — you notice the difference in the change room right away.
Upon entering the store, the first thing you will probably notice is that Petra Karthaus is so much more than a place to buy clothes. An intricate jewelry counter by the front has been carefully selected to match the look and feel of the clothing. Speaking of curation, the store’s walls are adorned with all kinds of art. Oftentimes, visitors wind up taking a seat in the lounge at the back to chat with us about the paintings, reminiscing about the stories behind them.
Our latest art installation – The “Ciao Bella” painting – will be sure to grasp your attention. The artwork references Audrey Hepburn, a 60’s style and fashion icon driving a Fiat Cinquecento, a much loved car and an icon of Italian style. The image repeats four times – each a different color representative of an offset lithography ink palette, accenting the magenta, cyan, yellow, and black used in offset printing. Overall, the painting evokes a vibrant, instant flash, retro feel while combining fashion and art. We hope you enjoy “Ciao Bella” as much as we do 🙂
We’re open six days a week — Monday to Saturday from 11 am until 6 pm. We are closed on Sundays. We are also available by appointment if you’d like some undisturbed time to explore the racks and work with our style expert. Many of our clients take advantage of this opportunity and we’re more than happy to accommodate them according to their schedule.
